Hey guys so I wanted to share with you a bit of an insight into my three most worn lipsticks to date. I’ve never really been a junkie for lipsticks in my life whether they be liquid, matt, satin, cream or gloss. I’m more pickier with my eyeliners and eye shadows more than anything else. Which means I tend to keep my collection on a narrow side.
So recently I had a clear out in my makeup drawers and I’m slowly working my way through my collection instead of hoarding things and not really reaching for them. The reason I wanted to share with you my most worn lipsticks rather than my favourites, is because these I find are the most easy to wear on an every day basis. Which is much unlike my favourites that are either bright red or extremely dark for occasions and nights out.
So starting with one that I’ve repurchased a couple of times now.
MAC Cosmetics – Matte lipstick in Mehr.
I first discovered this lipstick on my way to Germany a couple of years ago now in a duty free. It’s a pink cool toned nude that’s few shades darker than my natural lips. I think it’s such a complimentary colour because of it’s tones and I can bet that it would suit any skin tone. I’ve repurchased it a couple of times now and I tend to wear it on an every day basis. I’d call this my iconic lip if I was known for it ha! I find it not to be too drying for a matte lipstick but would avoid this if you’re prone to chapped lips especially in these cold winter months.
Out of the three this is the deepest shade which is
Kat Von D – Everlasting Liquid Lipstick in Sanctuary
After trying to avoid KVD make up for the longest of time, I caved in when it first arrived in the UK. Let’s be honest, I didn’t hate the make up I was just a bit jealous that she apparently dated Ville Valo ha! Sorry about the mild fangirl moment but it’s over with. I purchased a couple of items from Kat Von D’s line but I found that the formula of the Everlasting Liquid Lipsicks was amazing. With a thin consistency it easily applies to your lips and dries very quickly without feeling over dry. It’s a deep brown nude shade thats slightly warm on me personally. It’s such a gorgeous colour but if you’re fair skinned like myself it might be a bit bold for the average person to wear on an every day basis.
So last but certainly not least is
NYX Lingerie Liquid Lipstick in Teddy
which is another dark brown nude lipstick however it isn’t as deep as Sanctuary. As this is the only high street lipstick out of the three, it doesn’t lack the same ambition as the others. It is a bit thicker than the Kat Von D formula but is just as easy to wear and apply. I absolutely love the formula and I have a couple of others from the Lingerie line. A mid to deep tone true brown nude shade that lasts for hours whether you’re drinking or eating and I LOVE it.
Out of the three lipsticks I find myself wearing the MAC Mehr shade the most on a day to day basis as I can put it on simply without looking in a mirror. However all three of them I wear constantly and I find so easy to wear with a sharp wing liner and warm tan eye shadow as a simplistic base. I know these might not be for every person but it’s what I gravitate towards the most.
