There’s nothing better than a cosy night in wrapped up in blankets and binge watching the latest tv show. This time of year is my favourite for it and I love getting snug leading up to the holiday season. Yes, I am mentioning Christmas and sorry not sorry. I wanted to share with you a few of my favourite things I love to do at this time of year to make it the perfect cosy night in.
First things first blankets are a must. I never used to be a blanket person as well, I thought they were all made from fleece. Now we have at least two in our front room all year around and even more when it’s coming to the cooler nights. To make it feel even more ‘autumn’ like, opt for colours in mustards, rust oranges and reds.
I’m starting to sound like an old age pensioner here but slippers. I’ve hated slippers for probably until I started university. Now I personally like a boot slipper. Something to keep you super snug in the house and not flopping off of your feet everywhere. Confession however, I am currently wearing Ugg boots as my slippers. I was recently gifted them and daren’t leave the house with them on. But my feet are toasty!
A good book
I’ve recently wrote about books to read in October. I love reading and I don’t get to do it as much as I want but I love it when its colder and being able to read a book by the fire.
Your favourite mug
Everyone has a mug that’s their favourite. Perfect for hot chocolates, hot toddies, flavoured coffees and bundles of tea.
If you want the ultimate cosy night in, then stick a face mask on. My boyfriend and I love to do this and have several facemasks ready to use for our little pamper nights in. I’ve wrote about some of my favourite products to use on a pamper night in before you might find useful. It’s a way to practise self love but also to take care of your skin. What’s better than that?
Okay okay the 80 year old has come out of the closest hasn’t she? Well I believe I am probably one of the most pickiest people when it comes to scents. Perfumes, shower gels and candles. They’re just never been my sort of thing but the Home Bargains Gingerbread Man candle is the stuff of dreams. With 95 hours of burning time and for only £3 to fully flood the room with it’s scent you can’t go wrong. I stock up on these until they stop selling them because I honestly love them that much. Believe me I wish I could say I was sponsored by saying this because I LOVE them. And I’m pretty sure Gemma Louise has their vanilla cookies scent and raves about that too.
Hot water bottle.
The thing that only comes out of the cupboard when it’s not used for period pains. My hot water bottle. It’s not quite cold enough to bury yourself and raid Primark for 50 of the things to keep you warm. To save on central heating that is. But just cool enough to feel a bit more snug.
Warm toasty feet?! What’s there not to like? I just buy mine from Primark because socks tend to go for a walk once they get to the washing machine.
A good tv show to binge.
Now at the moment I don’t think there’s a TV show that everyone is currently hyped up on. I’m waiting for the new Sabrina to come out. At the moment I’m loving Ozark and it’s full of crime
and suspense. We’ve watched the first season in less than a week and for parents that’s a record.
I don’t think I could cope without a nice dressing gown in my life. My mum bought the one I wear (which you’ll never see has a tacky quote on the back). However it’s the comfiest thing I’ve ever worn and pretty much wear it every day.
What are your favourite things to cosy up this Autumn?
