Earlier this week I went on a big beauty haul in Manchester. I had amazingly won a £500 gift card with Manchester Arndale and even though I split it with my family, it meant I could go on a splurdge. I had been eyeing up a few items beauty and skincare wise from Boots, Superdrug and Urban Outfitters. So I had a good idea of what I wanted, as well as wanting to explore a few new products
On to the haul.
Firstly I went and treated myself to a new pair of Vans. It’s been a while since I actually bought any as I’ve been wearing Converse and Nike’s for a while now. I’m not a shoe person but I love their old school platform shoes. They give me a little bit of extra height (and considering I’m 5″2 I need it). The thing with vans I find them to be so versatile that you can dress up an outfit or down depending on what you’re wearing.
When it came to beauty and skincare I then went to Urban Outfitters and picked up the Mario Badescu Drying Lotion. It’s been on my list for weeks especially since seeing Gemma using it over on her Insta stories and on her blog. I also nipped in to get the Pixi Glow Tonic but they were unfortunately sold out. It is a seriously small bottle so for the £16 I’m hoping it works wonders on my spots.
Next I popped over to Superdrug. Good grief, that store is always packed full of people making it extremely hard to get to what you want but after the struggle is real, I managed to weave my way through and pick out some old loves and some new starting with Maybelline’s Total Temptation Mascara. I went in initially to pick out an old favourite but ended up picking this as the wand looked right up my alley. From it’s cute packaging to it’s fluffy wand it drew me in straight away and I can’t wait to try it out properly.
On the stand next to it was Revlon and I picked up a foundation I loved a while back which is the FOUNDATION. It’s just the perfect medium foundation for my skin that’s matte but not drying matte. I picked up the shade 200 Nude. It’s the perfect medium for my skin between when I fake tan and when I’m not wearing any tan, so I can bronze it up or lighten my highlight areas.
As I initially went in to try and find the highly hyped up Revolution foundation and concealers, they unfortunately were sold out of pretty much everything and I was unable to pick them up. However I spotted the Revolution Re-Loaded Palette in Iconic Vitality. What stood out to me was the magenta pink shade in the palette that I have since tried and absolutely love. A complete bargain at only £4!
Every single time I go to Superdrug I always always always pick up the Tea Tree Deep Cleansing Mud Mask. It’s one of the most refreshing mud masks I’ve ever used and it makes my skin feel AMAZING afterwards. For 99p it’s seriously such an underdog in the beauty world. I can assure you, I promise, you wont be disappointed. I just wish they did it in a bottle version because I would be buying it in the bulk.
While I was there I had a gander at the hair dyes because I’ve been craving a new hair colour. I think it’s the sort of craving’s when people buy new shoes or handbags or whatever takes your fancy. I change my hair. Normally towards summer I go for a pastel pink, but I’ve really been feeling violet and lavender shades recently. So I picked up this Colour Freedom in Indigo Night. It’s a bright purple that if you tone out turns to a light purpley-grey. If you noticed on my Instagram, I’ve already posted a picture of what it looks like on!
Bondi Sands is probably my favourite fake tan at the moment and it smells like coconut and not biscuits, can it get better than that? I picked up another bottle of this in Ultra Dark as I’m halfway through my current one and I like to make sure I have a back up. It’s the perfect fake tan colour for me as it goes dark but not orange.
After I finished in Superdrug I made a quick stop to Boots where I picked up a new bronzer by Makeup Obsession in Dark Tan. I’ve bought it for when I’m not wearing fake tan to bronze up my face.
Last but not least I visited the NYX counter and picked up this lipliner in Nude Beige. I’ve been on the search for a medium brown lipliner for a while. That’s because I like to line my bottom lip to make it accentuate when I’m wearing lipstick. It also looks like a lovely colour to use for fake freckles which makes me really excited.
So that’s it! I tried to find bits that I wanted and they weren’t there. Honestly not a lot was catching my eye so I didn’t spend up. I can’t wait to go back and have another browse and pick up a few bits again.
